Hardcover. Condition: as new. Dust jacket condition: as new. Octavo; 227 pp. First printing stated. Gilt lettering on black cloth half-binding; black boards. An unread copy in excellent condition. Grisamore began the war as a sergeant in Company C, 18th Louisiana Infantry. After Shiloh, he became the regimental quartermaster. The 18th Louisiana was transferred to the Trans-Mississippi department in October 1862, where it remained for the duration of the war. Grisamore rose to the rank of major and assistant quartermaster of the Louisiana brigade. After the war, Grisamore lived in Thibodaux LA, where he owned a store, was a civic leader active in local politics, and where he died in 1897.
