Major-General John Frederick Charles Fuller (1878-1966) was a senior officer in the British Army. Known as a military historian, strategist, and prolific writer, he was also an authority on U. S. Grant. Fuller's analysis of the two chief Civil War commanders was first published in 1932. This second edition, with a new Foreword by the author, was issued in 1957 by IUP as part of its Civil War Centennial Series.
